Hi, my name is Elizabeth Blake Flitcraft and I am your hostess, founder and webmaster of the home selling site forsalebyownerhow2.com. I want to tell you what a pleasure it is for me to assist you with your home selling process. I hope you're learning a lot about selling your house yourself including preparing, staging, advertising and getting that contract.

I started selling real estate when I was 17 years old. I had graduated from high school early and I wanted to go into real estate with my mom, so I took the test and I received my license. However, because I was only 17 and not of legal age my license came with the stipulation that my mother who was also a Realtor® would sign my contracts. I loved selling real estate and most of all I loved helping people realize their dreams of owning a home. And that was 41 years ago.

I worked very hard and was very successful. I am a firm believer in education, I truly believe knowledge is power and I made it my mission early on to make sure that my clients learned more about real estate sales than just me finding them a home or selling their house. You will see that I am an advocate of educating people about the most valuable asset many of them have or ever will have, their home. Through knowledge they are better equipped to protect it.

As I grew older I started helping my co-agents with their marketing and their sales style which lead to my becoming a Real Estate Agent Trainer. Teaching Agents how to best represent themselves and their clients.

I created the materials I am using on this site over the past 30 years as a real estate agent. Many of the check lists and information sheets come from information I shared with my clients and other agents over the years. This Past summer we were preparing to move and I was packing up my office and my daughter wanted me to throw away all of my “papers” pertaining to my real estate career. Well, I made a deal. I would make a web site to help homeowners if I could keep my stuff. So here it is.

Sure, there are tons of FSBO sites, but not many of them speak to the beginners and explain the house selling process from start to finish at one location.

I also made an E-Book for Sale By Owner How 2 so that people don’t have to try to cut and paste all the information off the website they can just get it in the E-book. It’s a download in pdf format I offer for just $27.00 and it includes a bonus of a buyer’s book. I included the buyer’s book because it you are selling your house without an agent it is possible your buyer doesn’t have an agent either and may need guidance to successfully complete the purchase of your house.

My goal was to create a comprehensive site that not only explains how to sell your house, but also shows you how to protect, promote, enhance and make buyers want to write a contract on it.

Based on the simplistic design of my site you probably have guessed that I am no programmer, but I do love real estate and I do love to write and that is what helped me make this site, definitely not because of my design/programming skills. My internet inspiration and guidance came from Lisa Urby and her fabulous site 2createawebsite.com . With the information on her site, I was able to teach myself just enough to build this site and get it up and running on the web. It is Lisa’s site I linked for you to use to create your blog. She and her site are fantastic.

The goal of my site is to teach you the basics of selling your house. It was my intention to make it very easy to use and I hope you did not have any problems finding information. If you did please share your opinions and suggestions with me. I would love to hear from you. I still want to add u-tube instructional videos and a lot more tutorials and downloads to the site that will help me to help you.

The information you read here is based upon my own experiences. So the content is authentic. Any content that was not written by me is noted and the author is given the proper credit unless the material is so old and was a collaborative effort ages ago, which a lot of it is, in that case then it is just there. Most all of the information available out there is the same stuff just presented differently. In the 70’s staging was designing your house for sale builders were doing it all the time in their model homes. The names of things may have changed a little over the years but the process is still the same.

As a web surfer myself, I understand how important your privacy is to you. (a tip from me, I set up a free e-mail address which I only use for the internet, that way I know that emails to that email address are in response to my surfing the net and all those emails don’t show up in my real every day email. Not to mention who has time to sort through all that junk mail in your day to day email?!)
